From 2007-2012, Hilary Greenbaum served as a designer and writer for the New York Times Magazine. Then, she became the Director of Graphic Design for the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she oversaw the launch of the museum’s 2013 redesign, and continues to provide creative direction for a the wide variety of print, digital, and environmental materials which represent the institution. In this short talk, Hilary will discuss the similarities and differences between these two roles, and how the nature of the art and editorial worlds affect the type of design they each produce.
